British rider Amanda Derbyshire secured her first win of the year at the George Morris Arena to mark the begin of the 2017 Tryon Summer VII CSI 2* with a solid showing in the jump-off round.
Representing her first win at Tryon International Equestrian Center, not only this 2017 year but also in her professional career, Amanda Derbyshire alongside the 11-year-old mare Lady Maria BH (Cartani x Corrado I) owned by Gochman Sport Horse LLC, completed her round in 28.70 seconds securing 50 World Ranking Points.
Dominating Amanda Derbyshire on the $35,000 Suncast Commercial Welcome Stake 1.45m, the winner now raises 4 wins at FEI events in her career, overtaking on course designed by German Martin Otto, American rider Marilyn Little with the 10-year-old gelding Clearwater (Clearway x Come on), who recorded a time of 29.95 seconds.
Again a representative of the Latino Ranking stood out to occupy the third place, this time the Mexican rider Santiago Lambre secured 40 FEI Ranking Points with his result of 30.30 seconds accompanied by the 9-year-old mare Doloris (Harley VDL x Colorado D). It was another good performance for Lambre, who has become to date, as one of the riders with his horses, among outstanding of the season.
The group of top five finishers completed in fourth place Scott Keach of Australia with the 12-year-old gelding Fedor (Kashmir van Schuttershof x Orkaan) in 30.49 seconds and fifth place it repeated Marilyn Little with the 13-year-old mare Corona 93 (Beckmann’s Cordalme Z x Lenz XX) had a time of 31.91 seconds.
