Abdelkebir Ouaddar excelled in the first class of CSI 5* Al Shaqab.

The first class CSI 5* of the CHI Al Shaqab 2017 in Doha was led by Abdelkebir Ouaddar from Morocco with the 15-year-old stallion Cordano Sitte Z (Carthago Z x Major de La Cour) owned by Sm Le Roi Mohammed Vi.

Rounding out its double phase in 28.94 seconds, Ouaddar clinched the first win of the week to add 50 World Ranking points, its first points in March, beating the Swedish Henrik von Eckermann in a close match. To finish in second place the main figure last week in Gothenburg, completed his court in 29.41 seconds with the 10-year-old stallion Chacanno (Chacco-Blue x Kannan) owned by Darier Bertrand.

The top five finishers were third-placed Bassem Hassam Mohammed of Qatar in a time of 30.31 seconds with Argelith Squid (Salito x Gibraltar), while closing the fourth and fifth place the Italian duo of Emanuele Gaudiano with Caspar 232 (Berlin x Padarco 2) in 30.52 seconds and Piergiorgio Bucci performing with Heartbreaker Vd Achterhoe (Bentley van de Heffinck x Catango Z) in 30.59 seconds.

The best seed of the class and world number 1 Daniel Deusser of Germany culminated in 17th placed.
