Saudi rider Abdullah AlSharbatly took a easy victory in the tiebreaker round, achieving a 4 second advantage over Swede Henrik von Eckermann.
After passing a regular round with 30 pairing on course designed by German Frank Rothenberger, a total of 9 classified riders returned to the tiebreaker with Abdullah AlSharbatly of Saudi Arabia being the winner with a time of 39.35 seconds.
Resulting Abdullah AlSharbatly with his 13-year-old gelding Crazy Quick (Chacco-Blue x Quick Star) the only ones to lower the 40-second barrier, the winner claimed 50 World Ranking Points and surpassed the world number 8 Sweden Henrik von Eckermann, who completed his course in 43.31 seconds with the 12-year-old gelding Artiste de L’Abbaye d’Aulne (Conquest van de Helle x Idem d’Azur).
The double clear rounds extended to fifth place for the third FEI class of the CSI4* Abu Dhabi Int’l Show Jumping Event 2018, where French Frédéric David occupied the third place with the 12-year-old gelding Saxo de La Roque (Capital x Quidam de Revel) in 43.93 seconds, fourth place was Abdullah Humaid Al Muhairi from the United Arab Emirates with the 14-year-old mare Ulme de Feugeres (Quatum x Landgraph I) in time of 47.81 seconds and fifth place was Shady Ghrayeb from Syria with the 11-year-old gelding Taiwan du Landey (Flipper d’Elle*HN x Quoglof Rouge) in 47.95 seconds.
