For the third day of the CSI 5* Gothenburg was a great surprise with the victory of the Frenchman Aldrich Cheronnet, number 272 of the world during the dispute of the Gothenburg Trophy that gave the winner 100 FEI Ranking points.
Representing his first win and most important performance to date for Cheronnet in FEI classes, the French maintained the good performance of his country, in the majority of the class that have been disputed during the week, being presented with the 10-year-old gelding Tanel Des Bonnes (Watch Me*hoy x Don Pierre) owned by SNC Ecurie du Herrin, dominating the tiebreaker in 36.92 seconds.
The second position was again for Pieter Devos of Belgium, who is very close to the victory for second chance and separated by only 22 hundredths of a second over the winner, finishing his course in 37.14 seconds with the 9-year-old mare Claire Z (Clearway x Coronado). The class that only counted on the participation of 29 pairs, the 5 classify to the jump-off would be completed a perfect way their rounds with double clear, being in third place Maikel van der Vleuten of Holland in time of 39.15 seconds with VDL Groep Idi Utopia (Quasimodo Z x Darco), fourth place for the German Marco Kutscher and Clenur (Carinue x Fernando), while fifth place was Satu Liukkonen of Finland with Gurra Hop (Hip Hop x Little Boy).
