Continuation of the Devon Horse Show and Country Fair had the dispute of $35,000 Devon Speed Challenge CSI4* and the victory for the British rider Amanda Derbyshire in a course designed by the also British Kelvin Bywater.
Amanda Derbyshire was presented with 11-year-old mare Lady Maria BH (Cartani x Freia V) owned by David Gochman, recording an unbeatable time of 62.13 seconds to earn 50 World Ranking points. Only against the American Andrew Kocher the winner had a fight for the first place, when he completed his course in 62.49 seconds with 16-year-old gelding Le Conte (Lancer II x Malin) to finishing in second place.
The Top 5 was completed in third place by the best seed of the competition and Grand Prix last night winner McLain Ward, World No. 2, getting a time of 67.30 seconds with 9-year-gelnding Balanda (Burggraad X Galanda), followed in fourth place by another this week winner Sydney Shulman in 67.79 seconds with 10-year-old mare Toscane de L’Isle (Mylord Carthago x Farandole Violaine) and fifth-place Tracey Fenney next to 8-year-old stallion MTM Como No (Cornet Obolenski x Thamara M) in 67.93 seconds.
