The young Mexican rider Andrés Azcárraga dominated the second FEI class of the CSI3* Ciudad de Mexico, Estado Mayor Presidencial, leading the jump-off round.
Resulting in total domination by home riders, Andrés Azcárraga of Mexico completed a formidable jump-off round with the 11-year-old stallion Al Capone (Candillo x Argentinus) to secure 50 World Ranking Points, after completing his round on course designed by Anderson Lima de Moura in a time of 43.79 seconds.
The world number 395 Andrés Azcárraga got the third FEI victory of his career and was also the third of 2017, marking a very tight advantage against the yesterday’s winner Francisco Pasquel and his 8-year-old gelding Coronado (Cassini I x Accord II), who finished their journey in 44.23 seconds.
For third place Fabian Ordoñez Tello recorded a time of 48.42 seconds with the 10-year-old gelding Chencho, representing the last double clear round of the class, while Juan Pablo Jimenez Torres down a pole to complete in 4 fouls and 44.02 seconds his round accompanied by the 10-year-old gelding Relic LS (Quintero La Silla).
The final place of the top five classified was occupied by Mexican Nicolás Pizarro, taking home riders the top six positions, leaving as his result the fifth place owner a time of 44.70 seconds plus 4 fouls with the 10-year-old mare Chumba Wumba.
