The third week of the Great Lakes Equestrian Festival in Michigan had American rider Andrew Kocher as winner of the $35,000 Welcome Stake CSI2*.
Introduced with the 10-year-old mare Ciana (Rascin x Chin Chin) owned by Eagle Valley Partners LLC, Andrew Kocher completed a jump-off round in 39.30 seconds to secure 50 World Ranking Points and out for over 1 seconds to the German rider Wilhelm Genn.
With 37 pairs participating in the course designed by Brazilian Guilherme Jorge, only 14 of the riders returned to the jump-off to see Andrew Kocher win, while Wilhelm Genn with the 11-year-old gelding Bugatti (Heartbreaker x Pilot) occupied the second place with a time of 40.42 seconds.
For Latino Ranking the Mexican rider Santiago Lambre finished third, getting 40 World Ranking Points with the 10-year-old gelding Casino N (Careful x Ahorn) owned by Lambre in 41.18 seconds. Argentine rider Ignacio Maurin in company of the 10-year-old gelding Copa Cabana (Cartano x Cash) owned by Stransky Mission Farm Inc., demolished a pole in its jump-off to occupy the 12th place and also to add World Ranking Points.
