The second day of second week in the 2017 Old Salem Farm Spring Horse Shows had a new protagonist, with the victory of American rider Andrew Ramsay in the dispute of $35,000 Old Salem Farm Jumper Classic CSI3*, presented by Wells Fargo.
Under course design by Irish Alan Wade, a total of 11 pairs were qualified for the jump-off, where Andrew Ramsay appeared with 11-year-old gelding Stranger 30 (Stakkato x Cheenook) owned by The Stranger Group, completing his tour in 31.99 seconds, securing 50 World Ranking points. Being his 12-cent lead, Ramsay outperformed yesterday’s winner McLain Ward, who finished one-two and for second class in a row, placed second with 10-year-old mare Tina La Boheme (Calvaro Z x Arpege Pierreville*HN), adding 45 points with his result.
As if it were a movie script, Olympic medalist and World No. 2 McLain Ward avoided Andrew Ramsay’s one-two, who was finished in third place with 13-year-old mare California 62 (Cassini I x Galant Vert xx) in 32.63 seconds, completing the top five in fourth place Devin Ryan with 8-year-old gelding Eddie Blue (Siroco Blue VDL x Marlon) in 32.90 seconds and fifth place Mario Deslauriers with 8-year-old mare Bandolina 2 (Clarimo x Landos) recording a time of 33.70 seconds.
