The first day of the FEI competitions at the CSI 5* Madrid was for the British man Ben Maher and his 11-year-old mare Diva II (Kannan x Berlioz) in the UAX Trophy dispute with €92,000.
After a regular round with 48 pairs, only 11 would return to the tiebreaker in a complicated and technical course, being undoubtedly one of the main factors of time. Defined the first two positions, the Australian rider Edwina Tops-Alexander would occupy the third place with the 13-year-old mare Lintea Tequila (Campbell vs. Corrado II), completing the jump-off in 34.67 seconds. The Top five in the disputed trophy was Spaniard Sergio Alvarez Moya in the fourth place registering 35.55 seconds with Unicstar de l’Aumone and fifth Meredith Michaels-Beerbaum of Germany with Comanche (Coupe de Coeur 2 x Baloubet du Rouet ) in 36.05 seconds.
