Dutch rider Ben Schröder commanded the €65,000 GMB Grand Prix of Indoor Drachten to finish one-two home riders in the CSI3* Indoor Drachten.
The course designed by Har van de Venne for 57 pairs, had the prominence of home riders, being 8 classified riders to the jump-off and commanded by Ben Schröder with his 10-year-old gelding Davino Q (Vingino x Monaco) owned by Andrius Petrovas & Valerija Sokolova.
After completing his round in 41.01 seconds, Ben Schröder secured 80 World Ranking Points, becoming the first of two double clear rounds, registering with Piet Raijmakers Jr the one-two for the Netherlands, finishing second in time of 41.39 seconds next to 10-year-old gelding Van Schijndel’s Dominus (Berlin x Odermus).
Christophe Vanderhasselt of Belgium took the third place with a time of 38.74 seconds, next to 10-year-old mare Identity Vitseroel (Air Jordan Z x Darco) accumulating 4 fouls. The Top 5 ended up in Dutch hands with Michel Hendrix finishing fourth with the 12-year-old gelding Baileys (Indoctro x Come On) and Spaak Sleiderink was fifth accompanied by the 10-year-old gelding Ivan R (Apple Juice x Sam R) .
Turning to the Latin Ranking where Eduardo Daminai Filizola of Brazil totaled 12 fouls in 69.62 seconds with the 9-year-old mare Jella van’t Kathof (Eldorado Van De Zeshoek x Calvados / Sable Rose) to occupy the 39th place and was escorted by Colombian rider Dayro Arroyave in 40th place, accumulating the same 12 fouls in 70.07 seconds with the 10-year-old gelding Uciano de La Botte (Luccianno x Arpege Pierreville). The former Latin Ranking Leader Marlon Modolo Zanoteli retired with his 14-year-old gelding Extra van Essene (Diamant de Semilly x Gotthardsen).
