The second day of CSI 2* Valkenswaard again marked the great domination by the Irish Bertram Allen, who stopped the clock in 62.60 seconds at speed class, to earn 50 World Ranking points.
As the world’s leading speed reference, Allen added his 11th win of 2017 with eight-year-old gelding Christy Jnr (Indoctro x Clinton I) owned by Ballywalter Farm. Attaining a lead close to 2 seconds, the World No. 15 Irishman outperformed homemaker Maikel van der Vleuten, who appeared with 9-year-old mare Dana Blue (Mr. Blue x Hemmingway), completing his course in 64.42 seconds.
Completed the top five with Australia’s third-place James Paterson-Robinson in 66.71 seconds next to 8-year-old gelding Stakkatos’s Star (Stakkato x Silvio I), followed in fourth place by American rider Hilary Mc Nerney along with 13-year-old mare Z Acodate DDL (Acord II x Aldatus) registering a time of 67.18 seconds and fifth place Niels Taken of Netherlands with 10-year-old mare Chenna Z (Chablis I Z x Katell XX) in 67.34 seconds.
For Latino Ranking, good times were several of their representatives, but none managed to finish with clear round to be out of the points, being the best located Eduardo Menezes of Brazil with 9-year-old gelding Quantador 3 (Quinta Real x Cornet Obolensky) in 17th place with 4 fouls and 66.33 seconds. His fellowman Pedro Veniss was ranked 19th with 11-year-old mare Anaya Ste Hermelle (Andiamo x Paladin Des Ifs) in 67.47 seconds, while more distant Enrique González of Mexico finished 28th with Zapzero (Zapatero Vdl x G.Ramiro Z), Rodrigo Pessoa of Brazil in 33rd position with Chloe’ (Chequille x Athletico) and Brazilian Marlon Modolo Zanotelli, who closed the delegation in 38th position.
