Although only 18 raiders participated in the CSI 4* Volkswagen Cup in Stockholm, Bertram Allen of Ireland was able to show his usual speed skill to take the car as the main prize, overcoming his closest rival by 7 hundredths of a second.
After finishing last year’s won three main events in the same competition ant take the first prize car, today started with the same dose, by masterfully driving the 12-year-old mare Molly Malone V (Kannan x Cavalier) in a speed class, marking an unbeatable time of 58.37 seconds surpassing Belgian rider Nicola Philippaerts and Ustina Sitte (Clinton x Parco), also a 12-year-old mare, with which he completed his route in 58.45 seconds.
The strong fight for the victory continued until the seventh place, but they stood out in the first five places Malin Baryard-Johnsson of Sweden with the 10-year-old mare H&M Cue Channa 42 (Cardento 933 x Robin Z) in 59.44 seconds, followed in the fourth place by the veteran British John Whitaker and Argento (Arko III x Gasper) that finished in 60.42 seconds its course and the fifth place occupied by the Italian Piergiorgio Bucci with Casallo Z (Casall x Carthago Z) recording 60,45 seconds.
