Irish rider Bertram Allen won the Grand Prix of the Sweden International Horse Show 2017, being escorted by 3 home riders.

Under the course design Swedish Peter Lundstroem for 18 of the best world riders, the world speed champion Bertram Allen dominated the Two Phases of the Grand Prix, along with the 11-year-old gelding Gin Chin van het Lindenhof (Chin Chin x Calido I) owned by Ballywater Bloodstock.

Marking a clear advantage against his closest rival, Bertram Allen recorded a time of 42.63 seconds that earned him one more car to his already extensive collection, forming part of the first prize in the class and securing 50 World Ranking Points.

Surpassing a trio home riders by Irishman Bertram Allen, the second place went to Malin Baryard-Johnsson with the 9-year-old mare H&M Indiana (Kashmir van Schuttershof x Animo’s Hallo), last participant who completed the clear Two Phases rounds, while third place was the two-time Swedish Olympic medalist Peder Fredriscon with the 9-year-old gelding H&M All In (Kashmir Van Schuttershof and Andiamo Z), yesterday’s winner and today set the fastest time in 42.16 seconds, but they accumulated 4 faults.

The last home representative among the best classified was Irma Karlsson with 9-year-old mare Ida van de Bisschop (Kashmir van Schuttershof x Papillon Rouge), finishing her journey in 4 fouls and 44.23 seconds to occupy the fourth place.

The top five finishers were completed by Belgian rider Nicola Philippaerts accompanied by the 10-year-old gelding H&M Harley v. Bisschop (Coronado), representing the last participant of the Two Phases.

By the Latino Ranking Marlon Modolo Zanotelli of Brazil was placed sixth, not achieving his pass to the Two Phases, but if he added World Ranking Points with his position next to the 13-year-old gelding Extra van Essene (Diamant de Semilly x Gotthardsen) in clear first round and 81.35 seconds.
