The third day of CSI 5* Jumping Antwerpen at Belgium marked the start with a convincing victory of Irish rider Billy Twomey to dominate CSI 5* Table C, practically without enemies obtaining a near advantage of 2 seconds in speed class.
With a great atmosphere in Antwerp as it is characteristic, Billy Twomey completed his tour in 60.47 seconds next to 13-year-old stallion Ardcolum Duke (Joe Olsen x Clover Hill) to take 50 World Ranking Points plus €8,118 with his victory, while being escorted completing the Top 5 by house rider Wilm Vermeir in second place recording a time of 62.25 seconds with 10-year-old mare Hacienda d’Evergem (Contact van de Heffinck x Sheyenne de Baugy). Third place was Briton Michael Whitaker in 62.31 seconds with 12-year-old mare Jb’s Hot Property (Cheers Cassini), fourth-place Belgian Nicola Philippaerts with 13-year-old gelding H&M Quenzo de La Roque (Kannan x Jasmin) in 64.20 seconds and fifth Swedish Peder Fredricson in a time of 64.05 seconds with 9-year-old gelding H&M Carat Desire (Carinjo x Latus II).
The best seed of competition and World No. 2 Kent Farrington of United States, had no trouble and hurry to passing every jump of the field designed by Belgian Luc Musette taking 26th position of 28 participating, in a time of 93.34 seconds with 8-year-old gelding Baltic Star 2 (Bacardi x Chalan). The best time of the class was for Frenchman Julien Epaillard in 58.89 seconds with 11-year-old stallion Sherman de La Nutria LM (Diamant de Semilly x Papillon Rouge), who had to increase its final time in 8 seconds by two takedowns rail occupying tenth place.
