Brazilian rider Caio Carvalho Filho took the victory of the CSI2* Grand Prix, concluding the Indoor Barcelona Christmas Tour 2017 week.
Competing in the Real Club de Polo de Barcelona for the CSI2* week, the Latino Ranking representative Caio Calvalho Filho of Brazil was able to decipher to perfection the course designed by Spanish Elena Boix Gracia, where 23 pairs met looking for the highest honors.
The complicated course only allowed 3 riders to qualify for the jump-off and Brazilian rider Caio Carvalho Filho with the 11-year-old mare Sun Flower du Theil (Allegreto x Quidam de Revel), set the pace in 40.36 seconds.
For the Latino Ranking rider Caio Calvalho Filho represented his fourth 2017 FEI victory and sixth in his career, getting 50 World Ranking points and marking an advantage against Imma Roquet Autonell of Spain, who was in second place with the last double clear round in time of 41.85 seconds with 10-year-old mare Ilanta Del Maset (Indret Del Maset).
The last qualifier to the tiebreaker was also home representative with Rubén Gómez Crespo accompanied by the 10-year-old mare Titaua du Chesi (Darius du Murier x Soir d’Avril V), but opted for retirement by not being able to reach their opponents by knock down a poles.
The top five were completed by Guillaume Jordan of France in fourth place with the 15-year-old mare Ora des Hutins (Drakkar des Hutins x Quiniou) and fifth place Blai Capdevila of Spain with the 10-year-old gelding T’Es Ok Minotais (Ok du Rozel x Kannan*Gfe).
