The young American rider Chloe Reid won the €25,000 Grand Prix of Surenburg 2017, representing the fifth victory in her career and second in FEI events, to be credited with her result 50 World Ranking Points.
As the course designed by German Frank Rothenberger for 47 pairs in the regular round, a total of 15 riders got their jump-off pass, where Chloe Reid set the pace with an unbeatable time of 37.98 seconds with the 10-year-old mare Sally 643 (Salito x Werther) owned by Team Reid LLC. As a curious fact, the young 20-year-old American rider was getting her second FEI victory, but both have won the Grand Prix at Reisenbeck, first in 2015 and now in 2017, where she currently holds the 379th place in the World Ranking.
Taking advantage of almost 1 second before its closest rival, the second place was for the Russian Maria Madenova next to KS Coradina (Corlensky x Cardento) recording a time of 38.95 seconds, while the third place was of the house rider Mario Stevens accompanied by the 11-year-old mare El Bandiata B (The Bundy x Picard) in 39.21 seconds.
The Germans also seized the following five positions, but completed the Top 5 in fourth place Jana Wargers with a time of 40.25 seconds with Afrah 4 (Coriano x Lord Inci Pit) and fifth place Philip Rüping in 40.43 seconds with Clinta (Clinton x Lord Pezi).
For the Latino Ranking the Brazilian rider Karina Johannpeter participated, finishing within the points to the World Ranking in the 13th place, completing her jump-off round in 4 faults and 47.53 seconds with the 12-year-old stallion Lucero LS La Silla (Dollar de la Pierre x Accord II).
The best seed of the Grand Prix was World Number 15 Ludger Beerbaum from Germany, who presented with the 18-year-old stallion Chaman (Baloubet du Rouet x I Love You) to finish in 22nd place with a field of 4 foul and 83.99 seconds.
