Former World Number 1 and current No. 5 of FEI Ranking, Christian Ahlamnn won the most important event of the CSI 3* Mannheim week, dominating the Grand Prix with 14-year-old stallion Colorit (Coriano x Capitol I) owned by Klaus Isaak.
With 46 combinations the course designed by Christa Jung from Germany, 9 pairs returned to the tiebreaker, where only one rider was not of German origin. Stopping the clock in 38.27 seconds, Christian Ahlamnn took 80 World Ranking points by taking first place, being the first of four double clear rounds that would finish, to leave the only non-German rider in second place recording a time of 40.08 seconds by Egyptian Karin Elzoghby with 12-year-old mare Amelia (Cantos x Numero Uno), while remaining two double clears were Markus Beerbaum with 11-year-old stallion Comanche (Coupe de Coeur x Baloubet du Rouet) in third place recording a time of 43.69 seconds and fourth place was Laura Klaphake with 9-year-old mare Catch me in you can (Catoki x Acordplus) in time of 44.25 seconds.
For Latino Ranking Enrique González from Mexico and Karina Johannpeter from Brazil, both competitors were out of World Ranking points, with Gonzalez in 30th position alongside 10-year-old mare Chacna (Chacco-Blue x Narew XX) with a total of 12 fouls and Johannpeter in 32nd position with 13 faults next to 14-year-old gelding Casper 150 (Concetto I x Grannus).
