Luxembourg’s Christian Weier completed a outstanding presentation for his country and added his first victory at CSI2* Lier in Belgium, on effective jump-off.
The course designed by Belgian Marc Jozef had a total of 56 pairs participating in the €24,600 Prijs Stephex Horseboxes and the victory of Christian Weier with his 11-year-old stallion Global (Nabab de Reve x For Pleasure), obtaining a time of 33.80 seconds in the jump-off and totaling 50 World Ranking Points.
With an advantage of close to 1 second, Christian Weier beat Dutchman Johnny Pals with his 14-year-old mare Wesselina (Cumano x Mytens Xx) in a time of 34.79 seconds to finishing in second place and Germany’s Isabelle Gerfer in time of 35.14 seconds with the 8-year-old gelding Jarpur (Ogano Sitte) to occupied third place.
For the Latino Ranking Joao Eduardo Ferreira de Carvalho from Brazil obtained World Ranking Points with his 11th place, exceeding the time allowed and to be penalized with 1 fault next to the 8-year-old gelding Volt du Thot (Mozart Des Hayettes x Fusian Du Defey) in 75.46 seconds. Same luck that ran the Pan American Ranking representative Reed Kessler of the United States, who finished in 12th place with the 11-year-old mare Christy 3 (Christiano x Arpeggio) in 76.22 seconds.
