The final day of CSI5* Dublin kept the same tone with Irish victories and repeated Cian O’Connor in the €24,600 Speed Championship.
Second win in a row for Cian O’Connor, who returned to add 50 World Ranking Points, completing his fast round in 65.29 seconds with the 12-year-old stallion Copain du Perchet (ST Conteur x Ragazzo). It was another clear exhibition on part of the house rider, occupying the three first places.
With one-two-three Irish, Cian O’Connor outclassed fellowman Billy Twomey by only 5 hundredths of a second, who came up with the 13-year-old stallion Ardcolum Duke (Gypsy Duke x Clover Hill) and third place Shane Breen with the 11-year-old stallion Can Ya Makan (Canturo x Fara) finished in 67.77 seconds.
Although the event only had the participation of 20 pairs, strong fight remained in the first position of classification, where Edwin Smits of Switzerland added 4 seconds with his demolish for a final time of 71.85 seconds with the 13-year-old gelding Dandiego BZ (Dutch Capitol x Flemmingh) and fifth place with 8 seconds penalty for two knockdowns, was Irish Dermott Lennon with the 15-year-old gelding Vampire (Andiamo x Fruhling) in final time of 74.35 seconds.
