Irishman rider Conor Swail took great pains by winning the $35,000 Friends of Royal West Cup taking first and third places.
After finishing second in yesterday’s class against Daniel Coyle, today Conor Swail was able to dose very well his two horses presented, classifying them to the jump-off round with 15 riders on course designed by Werner Deeg of Germany.
With the participation of 15 pairs almost half of the insured secured their pass to the jump-off, where Conor Swail got two very fast rounds, being the best with the 12-year-old mare Flower (Bon Ami x Randel Z) in 37.05 seconds and securing 50 World Ranking Points with the result. He also entered again with the 9-year-old gelding GK Coco Chanel (Clarimo x Lerano 2), completing the third fastest time in 38.92 seconds and with it the third place in the second FEI event of the CSI2* Royal West Calgary.
Achieving the goals in this opportunity Conor Swail after finishing second yesterday, the Irishman was escorted by Jim Hfko of Canada registering a time of 37.35 seconds with the 9-year-old stallion Un Diamant des Forets (Diamant de Semilly x Papillon Rouge), while they were accompanied in the top five finishers by Kyle King of the United States in fourth place with the 10-year-old gelding Escudo’s Triumph (Coat of Arms x Wanderkoenig) in 39.68 seconds and his countrywoman Lauren Crooks with the 8-year-old gelding Valentino d’dlte (Castroom Z*de Hus x Windsor) in 40.32 seconds.
