The second class of third day at ‘National’ CSI5* in Spruce Meadows had a repeat with Daniel Coyle of Ireland, who now led the group under 25 by winning the $35,000 Lafarge U25 Cup.
Adding his second win of the week, Daniel Coyle was presented with the 11-year-old gelding Ridley (Ustinov x Adlantus AS) owned by Susan Grange, after he returned to the winning Round to set a time of 43.76 seconds and take the first place plus 50 World Ranking Points.
The course designed by Guilherme Jorge of Brazil had 17 riders participating, where the Mexican Juan Jose Zendejas Salgado finished in second place, only 14 hundredths of a second slower than the winner, to take 45 World Ranking Points in 43.90 seconds with the 10-year-old gelding Tino La Chapelle (Mylord Carthago x Verdi), being the best by the Latino Ranking. Third place was Nicole Walker of Canada with the 12-year-old gelding Falco van Spieveld (Toulon x Lys of Darmen) on a slightly slower round in 46.51 seconds.
Also participating the Mexican Jorge Canedo Vincent finished in fourth place, stopping the clock in 46.86 seconds next to the 11-year-old mare Caitari (Carine x Cincaba Rouge) to equal his best FEI result and Daniel Coyle take the fifth place with Tienna (For Pleasure x Polydox) in 47.22 seconds.
