For the closing class of first day of ‘National’ CSI 5* at Spruce Meadows, Irish rider Daniel Coyle settled his opponents in a very difficult tiebreaker during the $86,600 Bantrel Cup 1.55m.

The class that began with 41 pairs, claimed to add World Ranking Points all 16 classified, being the fasted round of Daniel Coyle with the 11-year-old mare Cita (Casall x Pik Ramiro) owned by Susan & Ariel Grange, who would take the highest honors by stopping the clock in 38.27 seconds on course designed by Brazilian Guilherme Jorge. In this way the Irish was awarded 80 FEI Ranking Points, surpassing World No. 1 and also leader of the Pan-American Ranking Kant Farrington from United States.

In case of Kent Farrington, who for second month in a row remains the main reference for the world show jumping, completed his course in 38.73 seconds with 11-year-old gelding Sherman D’Amaury (Kannan x Quick Star) to add 70 FEI Ranking Points, while the third place was occupied by Egyptian Sameh El Dahan with the 13-year-old mare Sumas Zorro (Ard VDL Douglas) in time of 39.64 seconds.

With a total of five riders completing double clear round, the Top 5 was completed by Quentin Judge of United States in fourth place, registering 41.68 seconds with HH Quatour (Col Canto x Rosire) and in fifth as main reference of Latino Ranking was the Mexican Antonio Chedraui, completing his round in 43.43 seconds accompanied by the 11-year-old gelding Ninloubet (Nintender x Galoubet To) to take 50 World Ranking Points.

Juan Manuel Luzardo from Uruguay also scored points, knocking down a pole for 4 fouls in 40.77 seconds with 11-year-old gelding Stan (Stakkato x Sacramento Son), taking ninth place. On the other hand with points too, the Mexicans Fernando Martinez with Cor Bakker (Colandro x Quattro) in 11th position, Jaime Azcarraga with Anton (Marlone x Orville) in 12th and Federico Fernandez with Guru (Ard VDL Douglas x Clover Brigade) in box 16th.
