Briton Daniel Neilson beat his rivals in the €24,600 Gold 4 – 2Ph 1.45m match on the second day of CSI2* MET Oliva Nova.
With a participation of 64 pairs in course designed by Javier Trenor of Spain, the British rider Daniel Neilson secured 50 World Ranking Points, after completing his two phases in 31.08 seconds with the 13-year-old gelding Newton Nickel (Wolfgang x Indoctro) owned by Stacy Wilsone.
Being the first win of the week for Daniel Neilson, it marked a small advantage against the South African Govett Triggol and his 11-year-old mare Wolfe 334 (Quinar x Acord II) recording a time of 31.55 seconds.
For third place Niall Talbot of Ireland completed the two phases in 32.31 seconds with the 13-year-old gelding Character (Carano x Liatos), completing the Top 5 in fourth place Jessica Dimmock of Great Britain with the 11-year-old gelding Cassius Clay (Carolus H x Burggraaf) in 33.13 seconds and fifth place was Michael Duffy of Ireland accompanied by the 11-year-old stallion Efs Top Contender (Lauriston x Continue) in 33.68 seconds.
For the Pan American Ranking American rider Paris Sellon was ranked eighth with the 9-year-old mare Cassandra (Caressini L x Cardento) owned by Willow Grace Farms with a time of 35.26 seconds.
By the Latino Ranking José María Larocca of Argentina could not pass from the first phase with accumulated 4 fouls, ending in 39th place with the 11-year-old gelding Gaucho Da Quinta (Cicero Z Van Paemel x Upsilon Vd Heffinck) and the Brazilian rider Caio Carvalho Filho totaled 9 fouls in his first phase with the 11-year-old mare Sun Flower du Theil (Allegreto x Quidam de Revel) in the 60th place.
