For the first time at the Winter Equestrian Festival a CSI 5* with CSI 2* was mixed in the same week, with Irishman Darragh Kenny being the winner of FEI 2* $35,000 1.45m with 10-year-old gelding Bolero 111 (Chatman x Darco) for CSI 2* WEF 5.
Valid for the Sunday’s Grand Prix classification, Kenny managed to finish the tiebreaker as the last in the order registering 36.38 seconds. When it seemed that Luis Larrazabal from Venezuela would win the class, he watched the Irishman snatch 50 World Ranking points, finishing second for the best in the Latin Ranking after completing his jump-off in 37.16 seconds with the 10-year-old gelding G and C Close Up (Eurocommerce Washington x Cobra) totaling 45 FEI Ranking points.
Also managed to stand out for the Latinos adding FEI Ranking points Ecuadorian Diego Viveros, who finished in the 4th position with Bijoux (Cartani x Athletico) in time of 38.43 seconds, while Venezuelan Emanuel Andrade and 10-year-old mare Cortina 186 (Contendro II x Lavall I) also ranked in the jump-off, completed his course in 40.32 seconds to fill the 7th position.
Completed the Latin Ranking outside the Ranking points Pedro Muylaert (BRA), Ignacio Maurin (ARG), Jorge Matte (CHI), Juan Ortiz (VEN), Vasco Flores (PUR), Alejandro Karolyi (VEN) and Gianni Gabrielli (ARG).
