The second day of CSI5* Longines Global Champions Tour of Hamburg, had as main class the €118,200 Mercedes-Benz Championat led by Irish rider Denis Lynch, to obtain with his victory 100 World Ranking points plus a car of the sponsor.

Being a class with 52 pairs on course designed by German Frank Rothenberger, only 14 riders got their pass in the jump-off, in a class that also counted as first evaluation of the Global Champions League, leaving Denis Lynch of Ireland with 13-year-old stallion RMF Echo (Virus de Laubry x Feo) the Miami Glory team in first position.

Taking a time of 40.21 seconds for his jump-off, Lynch narrowly beat American rider Lauren Hough, who ran with her 13-year-old mare Ohlala (Orlando x Cardento) to stop the clock in 40.70 seconds, which represented for best of the Pan American Ranking, take 80 FEI Ranking points plus €17,612.

Finished the top five with Sanne Thijssen of Netherlands in third place, recording a time of 41.85 seconds with 11-year-old stallion Quidam Rb (Quinar x Cardino), fourth place for Swiss Martin Fuchs alongside 11-year-old gelding Clooney 51 (Cornet Obolensky x Ferragamo) in 42.95 seconds being the last double clear round and for fifth place Scott Brash of Great Britain accompanied by the 11-year-old gelding Hello Forever (For Pleasure x Nimmerdor) accumulating 4 faults in 40.48 seconds.

For Latino Ranking Yuri Mansur of Brazil was the best placed in 22nd position, completing his regular round in 4 fouls and 76.96 seconds with 11-year-old stallion Babylotte (Dollar du Murier x Concorde), followed by his fellowman Eduardo Menezes in 25th place with the same number of fouls in 79.30 seconds accompanied by 12-year-old gelding Quintol (Quintender x Cento) and finally Venezuelan rider Emanuel Andrade in a complicated round totaling 18 fouls in 51st position with 12-year-old stallion Reus de la Nutria (Zandor Z x Kannan).
