Turkish rider Derin Demirsoy showed off at the €24,600 Winning Round of the CSI4* ONB Al Rayyan International Show Jumping Championship to take the victory.
The third FEI week’s class in Qatar had a total of 16 pairs animating the competition, where Derin Demirsoy got the only fast Winning Round to finish as the only double clear round in time of 49.03 seconds, accompanied by the 14-year-old gelding Dadjak Ter Puttenen (Toulon x Dianda).
Dominant from the beginning to finish by Turkish Derin Demirsoy, secured 50 World Ranking Points by cutting what would be a winning streak for Australian rider Edwina Tops-Alexandre, yesterday’s winner of the last FEI class and today she had to settle for the second place, being her time of 51.89 seconds with the 8-year-old stallion Veronese Teamjoy and last clear winning round, but she spent his first round in 1 foul.
The third place was occupied by Athina Onassis of Greece, taking the best week’s result for her, completing in 3 fouls and 64.01 seconds her winning round with the 8-year-old stallion Vannan (Diamant de Semilly x Quana One de L ‘Eugrenee).
Completed the Top 5 Rakan Al Hasawi, first FEI event winner this week and finished with the best time of the winning round in 48.68 seconds, but he knocked down a pole to finish in 4 fouls with his 9-year-old gelding Dennis (Quidam de Revel x Naranga), while Russian rider Vladimir Tuganov accompanied by the 9-year-old gedling Qualidam (Quality Touch Z x Helise Pierville) took fifth place in 4 faults and 53.39 seconds.
