The first CSI4* Samorin class had an Irish victory, thanks to Dermott Lennon’s swift exhibition alongside his 15-year-old Judith Sossick’s mare.
Playing the €24,600 BMR Therapia in speed class, Dermott Lennon accompanied by Loughview Lou-Lou (Limerick x Jack Of Diamonds) stopped the clock in 64.20 seconds and take a lead of 1.16 seconds before the Belgian rider Constant van Paesschen, thus securing 50 World Ranking Points.
For his part Constant van Paesschen with the 10-year-old stallion Carlow van de Helle (Caretino x Corofino I) could not decipher the route of Dermott Lennon, having to settle for occupying the second place, while more distant in third place was Mohammed Al Hajri from The United Arab Emirates finished in 67.42 seconds with the 14-year-old gelding Pour le Poussage (Polytraum x Ladalco).
The Pan American Ranking had two representatives presenting a fight in the top positions, where Wilton Porter and his 10-year-old stallion Caletto Cabana (Cassini I x Capecanaveral) were sixth in 68.82 seconds and Pan-American gold medalist Christine McCrea followed in ninth place with a time of 69.46 seconds next to the 12-year-old mare Nektarina B (Nekton x Lancer II).
For the Latino Ranking Colombian rider Rene Lopez settled within the points with the 13-year-old gelding Con Dios III (Colman x Romino) in 70.92 seconds occupying the tenth place.
