Brazilian rider Eduardo Menezes got his second victory on consecutive days during the €24,600 La Vanguardia Trophy at Barcelona.
Being the second day of the CSIO Barcelona 2017, home of the Longines FEI Nations Cup Jumping Final, Eduardo Menezes representative of the Latino Ranking drove his 13-year-old mare Caruschka 2 (Caspar x Continue) to get his first week’s FEI victory with a time of 29.17 seconds and secured 50 World Ranking Points.
Showdown unstoppable at the Real Club de Polo de Barcelona, Eduardo Menezes outclassed British rider Guy Williams, who could not do anything to snatch the honors by South American rider, after stopping the clock in 29.65 seconds with the 15-year-old gelding Casper of Muze (Triomphe de Muze x Corsaire de Vaubain).
They were followed in third place by Swedish Olympic medalist Peder Fredricson with the 9-year-old gelding H&M Carat Desire (Carinjo x Latus II) in 30.02 seconds, fourth place was Spain’s Leticia Riva Gil accompanied by the 12-year-old mare Roanne de Mars (Kannan x Galoubet A) in 30.72 seconds and German rider Marcus Ehning finished fifth with the 9-year-old mare Calanda 42 (Calido I x Chasseur I) in 31.05 seconds.
Also by the Latino Ranking Luiz Felipe de Azevedo Filho of Brazil obtained FEI Ranking Points, finishing in eighth place next to the 11-year-old mare Berdina (Untouchable x Naturel) in time of 31.66 seconds and also by Pan American Ranking Canadian Chris Pratt, complete his round in 33.61 seconds with the 13-year-old stallion Quorioso Pre Noir (Kannan x Tresor de Cheux).
