The Swiss rider Edwin Smits completed an unbeatable jump-off round to take the victory at the CSI2* Grand Prix Sauldorf-Boll in Germany.
Occupying the first four places on part of Swiss, Edwin Smits led his fellowmen in the jump-off round and it was even these 4 riders who competed in their two clear rounds, but ultimately no one could exceed 33.49 seconds which marked by the winner with his 13-year-old gelding Dandiego BZ (Dutch Capitol x Flemmingh).
Securing 50 World Raking Points for the world number 165, Edwin Smits recorded his fifth FEI victory, but first of this 2017 and the first he gets in this indoor German circuit.
For second place Walter Gabathuler with the 10-year-old gelding Silver Surfer 2 (Casall x Levisto) were thus 1 second above the winner in 34.40 seconds, while third place was occupied by Mathias Schibli with the 8-year-old gelding Quno (Quo Vados I x Cashandcarry) and fourth place with last double clear was Barbara Schnieper accompanied by the 10-year-old gelding Loxley 99 (Lucky Boy x Ramiro) in 40.80 seconds.
For the Latino Ranking Puerto Rican amazon Maria Victoria Pérez who unfortunately knocked down a pole in her regular round and set the best time in 62.99 seconds with her 11-year-old mare Quitana 11 (Quick Star x Lucky Lionell), finish in eighth place to add World Ranking Points.
The best seed and world number 11 Martin Fuchs of Switzerland, did not get his tiebreaker rating for his 4 fouls in the regular round, being ranked 15th with the 16-year-old gelding Fardon (Corland x Mezcalero) in time of 66.16 seconds.
