Venezuelan rider Emanuel Andrade took the win in the $10,000 Dover Sadler Welcome Stake of 2018 ESP Holiday III in Wellington.
As part of the Equestrian Sport Productions winter season at the Palm Beach International Equestrian Center, Emanuel Andrade of Venezuela dominated the tiebreaker round with only 3 classified riders, all Latin American representatives.
Introducing Emanuel Andrade with the 11-year-old gelding Garinco van de Lijnsaerd (Clinton I x Pik Bauer), completing the tie-breaker round in 42.39 seconds to add a new victory in the winter circuit, leaving in second place Colombian rider Pablo Mejia with his mare RL Queen Mary with the last double clear round of the class in 43.69 seconds.
For third place and completing the qualifiers riders to the tiebreaker was Venezuelan rider Alejandro Karolyi with VDL Elliot, recording the best time in 42.04 seconds, but they knocked down a pole leaving them without a chance of victory.
They followed in the final order by Todd Minikus of the United States America finishing in fourth place, after exceeding the time allowed and was penalized with 1 foul along with the 12-year-old gelding Calumpi (Married x Lacantus), same luck for the winner Emanuel Andrade that finished fifth accompanied by the 8-year-old gelding Gran Mamut (Toulon x Jarnac) with 3 faults.
Finally, among the best of the day, Canadian rider Ian Millar occupied the sixth place, completing the fastest 4-fault regular round with the 9-year-old gelding Vittorio 8 (Valentino DDH x Ramiro’s Bube).
