Venezuelan rider Emanuel Andrade won the $25,000 SmartPak Welcome to start the CSI2* Crete week of the HITS Chicago Series.

Being his first participation in the HITS Chicago Series, Emanuel Andrade showed the way in the course designed by Manuel Esparza of Mexico, where they participated a total of 25 pairs.

Featuring eleven-year-old gelding Bonjovi (Verdi x Corland) owned by Emanuel Andrade, he was struggling in a strong fight for victory over American Shawn Casady, who came from winning last week’s $50,000 EQUO Grand Prix at Saugerties, but does not manage to be faster than the Venezuelan rider.

For Emanuel Andrade today’s victory represented the ninth Grand Prix in his career, being the first win in HITS Series, where he was very close in March, when he finished second and third place in the $25,000 SmartPak Grand Prix at Ocala.

Shawn Cassidy appeared with the 15-year-old gelding Valisnki S (Nijinski x Julius) finishing second and another Latino seized the third place with the Argentine rider Luis Pedro Biraben along with the 8-year-old stallion Eres Tu.

The excellent day for Emanuel Andrade extended in fourth place, position that it taked with the 10-year-old gelding Boy IV (Sandro Boy x Lansing), its second horses, while its third horse was the 14-year-old gelding Clouwni (Colman x The Zarras) finished in the 11 place.

The best seed of the class was the American Todd Minikus, having to settle for the sixth place next to the 8-year-old gelding Incitatus (Stakkatol x Con Air).

Also with respect to the Latino riders participated the Argentine Alexis Trosch and Gustavo Prato, taking the best part Trosch to be in eighth place with the 9-year-old Cantara Z (Cadence van’t Gelutt).
