Venezuelan rider Emanuel Andrade won the $50,000 HITS Grand Prix, representing the first HITS I Ocala January Classic 2018 Grand Prix.
After passing a regular round with 36 pairing held at the Ocala Horse Properties Stadium, the first HITS Ocala main class was disputed, winning by Emanuel Andrade with his 13-year-old stallion Ricore Courcelle (Quaprice Bois Margot x Alme) and securing a prize of $15,000 with his first place.
Not only did the Venezuelan rider Emanuel Andrade stand out with his first place, he also qualified with another horse to the jump-off, finishing in fourth place with the 17-year-old gelding U (Monaco x Calypso).
For second place Dervin Ryan of the United States next to the 11-year-old gelding Cooper (Unaniem x Baloubet du Rouet), completing another good jump-off round and third place Derek Petersen of the United States with Diamant’s Legacy, showed the closed fight for victory.
Also participating by Latin riders Argentine Alexis Trosch and Agustina Rosales, as well as Ecuadorian rider Anna Christina Gansauer.
In terms of statistics, today’s victory for Venezuelan rider Emanuel Andrade represented his 12th Grand Prix won in the United States, earning his top honors among Ocala, Wellington, Kentucky, Virginia, Johnstown, Chicago and Tryon.
