In a speed class for the closing day of the CSI 5* Al Shaqab in Doha, the Italian rider Emanuele Gaudiano was able to guide the competition with his very fast demonstration with 8-year-old stallion Chalou (Chacco-Blue x Baloubet du Rouet) in an interesting sample for the different descendants of Chacco-Blue.
With time of 60.34 seconds in class assessed by Table C for speed, Gaudiano took 50 World Ranking points with a tight margin of 60 hundredths of a second that served as an advantage against Jordanian Ibrahim Hani Bisharat and Dutchman Maikel van der Vleuten. In the case of second-place Bashrat completed his round in 60.61 seconds with the 11-year-old mare Brown Sugar (Chacco-Blue x Farmer), while van der Vleuten scored on the final position table in 60.94 seconds with 11-year-old gelding VDL Groep Four (Quincy Boimargot Quincy x Caletto I) to finish third.
The fourth and fifth place were for the Swedish Herik von Eckermann in 60.95 seconds with Chacanno (Chacco-Blue x Kannan) and Irish Bertram Allen finished in 61.99 seconds with Izzy By Picobello (Cicero Z x Capriano). The fastest time of the competition was Swiss Pius Schwizer in 59.97 seconds, but a rail takedown added 4 seconds to his time occupying the sixth place.
