Mexican rider Enrique Gonzalez was the winner of $34,900 HITS Welcome Stake, FEI first class of CSI4* HITS Thermal in California.
The course designed by German Ofal Petersen Jr. for 53 pairs had a jump-off round led by Mexican Enrique Gonzalez “La Pájara”, thus achieving 50 World Ranking Points.
Introducing the best Latino Ranking rider Enrique González in the class with the 9-year-old gelding Zapzerap (Zapatero VDL x G.Ramiro Z), recorded his first FEI victory since January 21st in Wellington and now California in the HITS Series, It served to conquer the second 2017 FEI victory for the world number 270.
The fight in the tiebreaker round continued with several outstanding performances, culminating in second place American rider Katie Edwards with the 10-year-old stallion Cetello (Coolidge x Quinar) and third place Mei Mei Zhu of China with the 14-year-old gelding Herald S (Heraldicus x Nobel V).
Completed the Top 5 of the CSI4* HITS Thermal first class Vani Khosla of the United States of America with the 12-year-old stallion Billy Mexico (Cevin Z x Le Mexico) and also American the fasted rider Kristen Vanderveen took fifth place with the 12-year-old stallion Bull Run’s Faustino de Tili (Berlin x Darco).
