The fourth Grand Prix of Winter Equestrian Festival in Wellington was for the Canadian Olympic medalist Eric Lamaze and 10-years-old gelding Check Picobello Z (Cárdeno x Orlando) owned by Artisan Farms LLC & Torrey Pines Stable, completing the jump-off in 43.66 seconds, becoming the unbeatable duo of the week won the Ruby et Violette qualifying to the Grand Prix on Thursday and the Grand Prix today.

would advance to the jump-off. Coming third in the order for the final round, Lamaze using its experience to discount stride directly jump number 7 and then make the short turn in front of jump 15 (vertical), which would seal the victory meaning the first Grand Prix of the season for the winner, second win of the week and fourth at WEF.

Another experienced and second in the order was the British Nick Skelton, who finished in second place completing the course in time of 45.52 seconds with 9-years-old mare 9 Untouched (Untouchable x Capitol I) owned by Neil Moffitt. For the third place American rider Marilyn Little and Corona 93 (Cordal Z x Lenz XX) a 12-years-old mare owned by Raylyn Farms LLC in time of 46.21 seconds and clear round would add his first official World Ranking points, after this mare participate in Eventing competitions in the last Pan American Games helping obtaining gold medal.

For the fourth and fifth Margie Engle and Georgina Bloomberg topple a rail to total 4 fouls in their fields respectively, the fourth time for Engle 44.11 seconds with Indigo (Indoctro) and Georgina would close in 45.56 seconds top five Grand Prix with 12-years-old mare Lilli (Lefevre x Diamir) owned by Gotham Enterprizes LLC.
