Olympic medalist and French world champion Eric Navet set the fastest time at the $36,500 Murieta Inn, Spa & Restaurant at CSI3* Rancho Murieta.
Again showing all his champion’s class, Eric Navet along with the 11-year-old gelding Basimodo (Quasimodo Z x Codexco) stopped the clock in 54.57 seconds for the speed class on course designed by Marina Azevedo of Brazil, thus ensuring 50 World Ranking Points.
Leading the group with clear advantage on part by Eric Navet, the second place was of the American rider Mandy Porter accompanied by the 18-year-old stallion Coral Reef Baloufino (Baloubet du Rouet x Continue) in 55.99 seconds and third place was Karrie Rufer along with the 12-year-old stallion Clapton (Clinton I x Triumph) completed their run in 56.05 seconds.
The top five finishers for the second FEI event of the week had American Amazons Vanika Khosla in fourth place with the 12-year-old stallion Billy Mexico (Cevin Z x Le Mexico) in 57.36 seconds and Jennifer Gates in fifth place with the 13-year-old gelding Alex (Arpeggio x Mon Cheri) in 57.72 seconds.
