Second day of 2017 Tryon Summer Series marked a new victory for Olympic medalist Eric Navet of France, who maintains his good streak when he added the third FEI victory in two weeks.
Introduced with 10-year-old gelding Catypso (Catoki x Calypso II), Eric Navet completed the first of two double clear rounds, finishing his tiebreaker in 38.20 seconds during the dispute of $35,000 1.50m Tryon Challenge CSI 3*, which allowed him to add 50 World Ranking points before only 5 classified. The 29-pairs class had in second place 19-year-old American rider Hunter Holloway, who recorded her round without a knockdown in 38.48 seconds with 11-year-old gelding VDL Bravo S (Ephepe For Ever X Chellano Z). Kristen Vanderveen, yesterday’s winner, had the fastest time of the jump-off in 36.92 seconds with 13-year-old gelding Bull Run’s Testify (Dollar Du Murier x Oberon Du Moulin), but knocked down a pole to finishing in third place.
For Latino Ranking Gustavo Prato of Argentina achieved a formidable presentation, occupying the fourth place with 12-year-old mare Carna Z (Crown Z x Grannus), result that would allow him to add 35 World Ranking points, marking an interesting rhythm in the tiebreaker with 38.37 seconds, but the 12 fouls complicated his aspirations. Also participated Emanuel Andrade of Venezuela closing the classified with Ranking points in 16th position in a field of 8 faults.
