The young Mexican rider Eugenio Garza was unbeatable in the $25,000 Under 25 Grand Prix presented by Hollow Creek Farm, getting his second win of the week at the conclusion of the 2017 Kentucky Spring Classic.
With a total of 22 emerging stars cheering the regular round, Eugenio Garza completed his tiebreaker round in 41.67 seconds accompanied by the 16-year-old gelding Bariano (Jetset-D x Skippy), being the most important class for young riders, but Garza had already won the $35,000 Hagyard Lexington Classic last Thursday, adding World Ranking points.
“I think it’s a great division that helps us U25 riders who are not ready for the big classes or just need a bigger step up from High Jr/AO,” says Eugenio Garza. “It’s a great class and there is always incredible camaraderie at every show. You always feel supported by yours peers”, he said.
Finished top three of the class Marvis Spencer in second place with a time of 41.83 seconds in company of 11-year-old gelding Chacco (Chaco-Blue x Achill-Lidero H) and third place Briley Koerner in 43.29 seconds, accompanied by 11-year-old mare Bente (Oklund x Boreas).
