Dutch rider Frank Schuttert settled all aspirations of the home rider Gregory Wathelet, by winning the Gemeente Oudsbergen Grand Prix in Belgium.
For the closing of the CSI2* Opglabbeek, the Grand Prix was disputed with a victory for Frank Schuttert in the jump-off round, stopping the clock in 34.63 seconds with the 9-year-old mare Beautiful Red (Casall x Colman), securing 50 World Ranking Points.
The effective performance of Frank Schuttert left without chance to Belgian rider and world number 13 Gregory Wathelet with his 10-year-old stallion Iron Man van de Padenborre (Darco x Chin Chin), who managed a time of 35.27 seconds and third place was Maelle Martin of France finished only 1 hundredth of a second slower in 35.28 seconds with the 11-year-old gelding Tempo du Plix (Conterno Grande x Narcos II).
The top five finishers ended up in the hands of Dutch riders, being the fourth place for Vincent Voorn next to the 9-year-old gelding Explosion (Applaus x Number One) in 37.39 seconds and fifth place Stefanie van den Brink with the 12-year-old mare Baronescha (Verdi x Concorde) in 37.65 seconds.
By the Pan American Ranking only managed to add World Ranking points Reed Kessler from the United States of America, occupying 16th place in 1 foul regular round with the 11-year-old mare Tradition de La Roque (Kannan x Oberon du Moulin). For his part, the former Latino Ranking leader Marlon Modolo Zanotelli of Brazil completed his field in 4 fouls and 70.12 seconds with the 13-year-old stallion Rock’N Roll Semilly (Diamant de Semilly x Apache d’Adriers) ending in 22nd place.
