Argentine rider Gianni Gabrielli commanded the $25,000 August II Grand Prix of the Tryon International Equestrian Center to win it in a jump-off round.

With a total of 19 pairs, the week’s stellar class took place, where Gianni Gabrielli accompanied by the 9-year-old stallion Dimodo (Quasimodo Z x Calvados), guided the group of 6 qualified riders for the tiebreaker round.

Achieving an excellent result and adding what was his first Grand Prix won in the United States of America, Gianni Gabrielli completed the first of two double clear rounds in 42.92 seconds, making a perfect course in the tiebreaker and attached to his strategy from the beginning to final, allowing him to overtake American rider Thomas Russell with his 11-year-old gelding Shining de Reve (Zandor Z), who stop the clock in 44.66 seconds.

It was precisely Thomas Russell who would take the third place with the 9-year-old mare Any (Aliano x Alcatraz) on field of 4 fouls and 43.292 seconds, while the Colombian rider Ricardo Villa occupied the fourth place with 10-year-old stallion Coteus (Tangelo van de Zuuthoeve x Numero One), being the difference between these two riders of 0.005 thousandths of a second.

Again the winner Gianni Gabrielli from Argentina was present among the top five classifieds, after he also achieved his pass to the jump-off with the 12-year-old stallion Air Ship Z (Air Jordan x Caretano), but knocked down two fences in 54.58 seconds, representing undoubtedly the best figuration for the world number 1,339.

Up to date in FEI events with points Gianni Gabrielli collected a seventh place as his best result, but today he started a new challenge in his professional career, within the Grand Prix held in the United States, with this important victory in North Carolina.
