The double phase of the €24,600 Gold Tour 1.50m in CSI 3* Arezzo Equestrian Center and valid to qualify for the Grand Prix tomorrow, had as winner the house representative Gianni Govoni.
Completing his presentation in 31.22 seconds with 14-year-old mare Winn Win (Chin Chin x Wagenaar), Govoni took 50 World Ranking points plus €6,150 for first place, beating Olivier Philippaerts of Belgium who finished 31.49 seconds his course with 9-year-old stallion Iker (Ogano Sitte x Up to Date). For the third, another Italian was in charge of grabbing the attention of the audience to mark a time of 31.74 seconds for Luca Mariani with 10-year-old stallion Tokyo du Soleil (Montender 2 x Papillon Rouge). The fight remained unchanged until ninth place, but the fourth and fifth place finished in the possession of Werner Muff of Switzerland in 31.82 seconds with Cosby (Contendro I x Landadel) and Dutchwoman Lisa Nooren in 32.19 seconds next to VDL Groep Urane de Talma (Argentinus x Landor S).
For the Latin Ranking the Colombian Rene López was able to enter the group of 16 best placed in the 15th position, being penalized with 1 foul in 35.57 seconds with 10-year-old mare Twit du Veillon (Diamant de Semilly x Tornado d’ Hotot). On the other hand, his fellowmen Andrés Peñalosa finished in a distant 50th place with 14 fouls in two phases, in the company of 10-year-old Tintin de la Pomme (Diamant De Semilly x For Pleasure).
