Belgian rider Gudrun Patteet took the victory at Sportstall Tina Pol, recording an exact time and beating Swiss Pius Schwizer.
Marking the beginning of the CSI5* St. Moritz, Gudrun Patteet managed a time of 71.00 seconds with the 11-year-old gelding Sea Coast Atlantic (Schilling x Aramis de la Cense) owned by Sea Coast Horses – Gudrun Patteet, to ensure 50 World Ranking Points and beating the home rider Pius Schwizer with his 11-year-old gelding Leonard de la Femme CH (Landjuweel x Indigene de Corday), being the advantage of 45 hundredths of a second.
The speed class with 43 pairs was completed in the Top 5 by Michael Whitaker of Great Britain in third place with his 11-year-old stallion Gentlemen v. Veldhof (Quite Easy I x Calido I) in 72.86 seconds, fourth place for Swiss Romain Duguet alongside the 11-year-old mare Sherazade du Gevaudan (Tinka’s Boy x Iago C) in 74.04 seconds and fifth place for the Briton Robert Smith with the 9-year-old stallion Ilton (Dulf van den Bisschop x Calvaro) in 75.02 seconds.
For the Pan American Ranking, US Olympic medalist Laura Kraut was ranked 14th with the 10-year gelding Confu (Contact Me x Cambridge) on a 1-foul field and Chloe Reid finished 16th with the 10-year gelding TNT Explosive (Tinka’s Boy x Calypso II) accumulating 4 fouls.
