World number 6 Harrie Smolders of the Netherlands took the first victory of the CSI5* International Longines Horse Show of Laussane in Switzerland.
Disputing the speed class €25,000 Prix Fond du Sport Vaudois on course designed by Italian Uliano Vezzani, the Dutch Harrie Smolders led the group marking a time of 62.17 seconds with the 13-year-old gelding Zinius (Reve x Kannan Nabab ) owned by Eurohorse BVBA – Axel Verlooy, managing to add 50 World Ranking Points with his victory.
For second place and remaining 85 hundredths of a second above Harrie Smolders, was British rider Ben Maher with the 10-year-old mare Tipsy du Terral (Toulon x Quat’sous) owned by Poden Farms, while third place in 6.04 seconds only 2 hundredths of a second slower than Ben Maher, was escorted by Frenchman Philippe Rozier with the 12-year-old gelding Reveur de Kergane (Hornet Rose x Elan de la Cour).
The top five finishers were completed by former world number one Simon Delestre of France occupying fourth place, recording a time of 63.55 seconds with the 11-year-old gelding Gain Line (Stolzenberg x Raphael) and fifth was Swiss rider Janika Sprunger with 12-year-old stallion Aris CMS (Bmc Nassau x Amethist) finished in 64.90 seconds.
Passing to Pan American Ranking the American rider Jessica Springsteen achieved the best figuration in sixth place, accompanied by the 14-year-old mare Davendy S (Kashmir van Schuttershof x Pachat II) in 64.84 seconds. The best seed and world number 1 Kent Farrington was playing a very conservative round with the 10-year-old gelding Dublin (Cobra x Calido) to finish accumulating 3 faults by excess the allowed time.
For Latino Ranking managed to finalize Brazilian Luiz Felipe de Azevedo Filho with the 11-year-old mare Berdina (Untouchable x Naturel) ranking tenth in 67.77 seconds. For his part the Colombian rider Carlos Lopez with the 10-year-old mare Cuplandra (Upgrade x Metall), completed his round in 68.90 seconds at 13th place.
