Dutch rider Hendrik-Jan Schuttert took the win at home, dominating the €30,000 Grand Prix of CSI Salland in Mariënheem.
The class presented by Roelofsen Horse Trucks took full ownership of the home riders with Hendrik-Jan Schuttert completing their jump-off round in 38.14 seconds alongside 11-year-old gelding Balboa Hs (Togo x Furore), representing 50 World Ranking Points for his mouth account.
After completing a regular round with 48 pairs on course designed by Jos Brinkman from the Netherlands, they qualified 5 riders to the jump-off, 3 of them whom were house representatives, finishing one-two with Hendrik-Jan Schuttert in first place and Kritian Houwen with 8-year-old stallion Edinburgh (Vleut x Darco) in second with a time of 39.16 seconds.
The double clear round extended to third place, thanks to the great performance of the only representative of Latino Ranking with Ernesto Canseco of Mexico, who completed his tiebreaker in 39.49 seconds accompanied by the 10-year-old mare Celebrity VDL (Indoctro x Emilion) getting 40 World Ranking Points in one of the best performances for the rider this 2017.
Completed the top five of the Grand Prix and with them the classified riders with Maria Hjorth Frederiksen of Denmark ranked fourth, marking the jump-off fastest time in 36.37 seconds next to the 9-year-old mare Duble (Diamant de Semilly x Equest Carnute), but with 4 fouls. For fifth place Vincent Geerink of the Netherlands completed his course in 4 fouls and 38.23 seconds with the 8-year-old mare Eranta (Warrant x Lupicor).
Two of the big Dutch riders stars present at the Grand Prix were flying Dutchman Gergo Schröder culminating with 4 fouls in 11th place and Jeroen Dubbeldam with 8 fouls finished 16th.
