Swedish rider Henrik von Eckermann started in full swing this 2018, taking the first FEI victory of the year at the CSI4* Abu Dhabi Int’l Show Jumping Event 2018.

Disputing the speed class on course designed by German Frank Rothenberger, a total of 39 pairs animated the actions with world number 8 Henrik von Eckermann in a main plan, completing his round in 67.59 seconds.

Securing his first 50 World Ranking Points for this 2018, Henrik von Eckermann was presented with the 16-year-old gelding Cantinero (Cento x Cash), showing the way in a tight final against the Saudi Ramzy Hamad Al Duhami, who finished in 67.74 seconds in second place with the 11-year-old gelding High Quality J (Quadrillo x Nabab de Reve).

The top five riders finished in third with Portuguese rider Luos Sabino Goncalves next to the 13-year-old gelding Acheo di San Patrignano (Ephebe for Ever x Nadir di San Patrignano) in 68.85 seconds, Natale Chiaudani from Italy was fourth with the 11-year-old stallion Tintin de la Pomme (Diamant de Semilly x For Pleasure) in 69.77 seconds and fifth Dutch rider Henk van de Pol with 10-year-old mare Dilithyia VLS (Vaust S. x Quattro) in 71.66 seconds.
