To conclude CSI 5* Gothenburg, an inspired Henrik von Eckermann took the win at the Longines FEI World Cup, qualifying for the Omaha Longines FEI World Cup Final in United States next month, undoubtedly a prophet in his homeland by adding his third victory.

After completed a regular round with 33 pairs in course designed by the Swedish Peter Lundstroem, a high percentage returned to the jump-off to define the followers of von Eckermann between the 12 classified. Presenting with the 11-year-old mare Mary Lou 194 (Montendro x Portland L) owned by Karl Schneider, Henrik stopped the clock in 36.76 seconds, narrowly surpassing 7-hundredths of a second, the Dutchman Maikel van der Vleuten and his 15-year-old stallion VDL Groep Verdi TN NOP (Quidam of Revel x Landgraf I) owned by Stal vd Vleuten & Team Nijhof & C.A recording 36.83 seconds.

On the other hand the results were adjusted from third to fifth place with Dutchman Leopold van Asten seizing third place in a time of 38.06 seconds with 13-year-old gelding VDL Groep Zidane N.O.P. (Heartbreaker x Calando I) followed in fourth place by Frenchman Olivier Robert and 13-year-old mare Quenelle du Py in 38.52 seconds, while Robert Smith of Great Britain finished in 38.60 seconds with 12-year-old mare Bavi (Balou du Rouet x Caretino).

The Longines FEI World Cup Jumping Western European League came to an end with this last round of a total of 13, leaving at the head of the table Kevin Staut of France accumulating 78 points. Many important names include a group of 18 classified, where Staut was escorted by Lorenzo de Luca of Italy, Denis Lynch of Ireland, Henrik von Eckermann who climbed to fourth place with this result today and Ludger Beerbaum of Germany as the first five of the classification.
