Portuguese rider Hugo Tavares and his 14-year-old gelding Phebus du Fief (Echo des Forets II x Prince Ig’OR), gave first victory to their country in Vilamoura.
Being the first FEI event of CSI3* Vilamoura in Portugal, Hugo Tavares led the speed class in time of 61.63 seconds and secured 50 World Ranking Points, also signifying his first professional victory.
Winner of a series of events in the past, the Portuguese Hugo Tavares never managed to finish in first place for a valid FEI event points, where he outperformed British rider Chloe Aston with the 12-year-old gelding Amigo T (Padinus x Achill ), who recorded a time of 62.84 seconds and third place was Martim Portela De Morais from Portugal with the 9-year-old gelding Inco van den Bisschop (Kashmir Van Schuttershof x Cavalier) finished in 63.42 seconds.
Passing to the Latino Ranking Brazilian rider Felipe Ramos Guinato with his 13-year-old gelding Zenzero (Kashmir Van Schuttershof x Burggraaf) stood out in fourth place in time of 63.90 seconds and take 35 World Ranking Points. His fellowman Joao Victor Castro did not run with the same fate as he racked up 10 fouls on his course with the 11-year-old gelding Quentin PJ (Quidam of Revel x Shield 19) finishing 28th.
