In an extensive and disputed CSI 4* FEI Nations Cup held at Linz, Austria, Team Italy took the honors for opening sleeve in 2017 FEI Nations Cup Jumping League Division Europe 2, completing its two rounds in 3 fouls.
The Italian representing by Emanuele Guadiano (12/0), Davide Sbardella (1/0), Luca Maria Moneta (0/6) and Luca Marziani (1/1) completed a first round of 2 fouls and 1 foul in final round to secure the victory, highlighting for David Sbardella with 14-year-old stallion Triomphe van Schuttershof (Oklund x Nabab de Reve).
The emotion to decide who win, focused between Italians and Belgians, completed their two rounds in 4 fouls. For first round, Jerome Guery and Gregory Wathelet made a total of four fouls in that first pass for Belgium, giving a way to perfect second round with Pieter Devos, Niels Bruynseels and Jerome Guery’s double clear round with 11-year-old gelding Grand Cru van de Rosenberg (Malito de Reve x Heartbreaker).
Third place went to Britain with 14 fouls and led by Robert Whitaker with second afternoon double clear round with 14-year-old stallion Catwalk IV (Colman x Corleone). The Czech Republic followed in fourth place with 15 fouls, in outstanding performance of Zuzana Zelinkova and 14-year-old stallion Caleri II (Calido I x Leonid), being third and last double clear round of Nations Cup, closing Hungary accumulating 19 fouls in fifth place as the most outstanding teams.
Denmark (20 fouls) were placed in sixth, hosts Austria (22 fouls) were seventh, Germany (25 fouls) followed them as eighth to close the teams that participated in two rounds. Poland (19 fouls), Norway (21 fouls), Russia (22 fouls), Portugal (30 fouls) and South Korea (73 fouls) completed the participating delegations.
