French rider Jean Luc Mourier grew up at home to win the first CSI 3* Megeve event.
Disputing the € 24,600 Prix BMW at 1.45m speed class, Jean Luc Mourier commanded one-two for his country in the first FEI class, earning him 50 World Ranking Points with the 11-year-old gelding Souvienstoi LaRiviera (Couleur Rubin x Socrate de Chivre) stopping the clock in 66.21 seconds.
The top five ranked in a clear dominance by the French riders, Hugo Breul took second place with the 10-year-old stallion Buzios D’Ecaussinnes (Kashmir van Schuttershof x Randel) in time of 69.68 seconds, for third place Vincent Deller of Switzerland cut the chain with the 14-year-old mare Worissa Whinny (Oklund x Purioso) in 70.42 seconds, while the fourth and fifth place was for the house representatives with Pierre Alain Mortier in 70.66 seconds next to Just Do It R (Action Breaker x Baloubet du Rouet) and Romain Dreyfus accompanied by Last Started (Quick Star x Corrado) in 71.64 seconds.
For the Pan American Ranking the Americans Julie Welles, Taylor Alexander and Samantha Cohen were not able to score World Ranking Points, with Julie Welles being the best placed in 17th totaling 4 fouls along with her 10-year-old mare Viper Vrombautshoeve Z (Verdi).
