Belgian rider Jerome Guery pulled off a high speed victory in the €70,000 Master Airbus Group competition in Chantilly.
Riding his 11-year-old grey stallion Alicante he finished in 36.62 in the jump off ahead of speed ace Hans-Dieter Dreher of Germany on Theodore Manciais who stopped the clock at 37.31.
Close behind in the stellar line up was Swiss star Pius Schwizer on Leonard de la Ferme who came home in 38.46. Two other Belgian riders, Jos Verlooy and Pieter Devos, both qualified for the jump off but were not quick enough to catch Jerome.
Germany’s Ludger Beerbaum, fresh from his sensational Longines Global Champions Tour of Chantilly Grand Prix win yesterday, again scored a spot in the jump off but was not quick enough on his 13-year-old chestnut gelding Casello.
